America’s Best Cities for Dating
Researchers at Sperling’s BestPlaces have ranked America’s top cities for dating. The study is based on the percentage of singles in the age range of 18-24, city population density, and the available dating venues per capita, which included concerts, coffee shops, bars, and the like.
Ranked number one on the list is Austin, Texas. It is a densely populated college town with the highest percentage of 18-24 year olds in the 80 cities ranked. Austin residents also have the highest expenditures on alcohol purchased away from home, no doubt at the many bars that dot the region. Austin also has some of the most well known music festivals in the world, Austin City Limits and South by Southwest almost double the population each year during their runs.
Ranking number two on the list is Colorado Springs, Colorado. A gathering place for techies and athletic types, Colorado Springs ranks in the 99th percentile for socializing at bars and dining out category.
Ranking number three on the list is San Diego, California. It scores high on the diversity index which means the likelihood of meeting someone of a different ethnicity is very high. When it comes to outdoor recreational activities you can take your pick, San Diego has a corner on the market.
So what are the three worst cities for dating? Kansas City, Missouri; Wichita, Kansas; and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. If you’re looking for love here, you may be looking in the wrong place!

I live in Charleston, SC, and I can honestly say professional game as most of the dating coaches teach hasn’t really reached here. It is a beautiful place, and while the per capita lingerie shop total is a good thing I don’t see it as a telling figure. The number of young hotties to hopelessly idiotic and hopeless young men is however a real telling thing.
As an older man who has returned to school I personally love all the young women who have gotten tired of the “little boys.” (Just relayin’ what I’ve heard countless times)
